Kim and Jess

Our friends, Kim and Jess, just had their wedding shower and are getting married in October! We were so excited to do this cake for them!

Both tiers were vanilla cake! The top tier had strawberry frosting and the bottom tier had chocolate frosting! We also got to try a new technique on this cake- QUILTING! It was much easier than we thought it would be and gives the cake a great look!

Let us know how we can help you for your next cake!

Stella Beans Turns One!!!

We did a cake for our favorite one year, Stella Cruz Dancil! She turned ONE on August 9, 2009. Kelsey was there the night Stella was born and cannot believe that she is already one and now WALKING!

When we asked Pamela what kind of cake she wanted, she said Funfetti with Rainbow Chip Frosting! Laura and Kelsey were going to make Funfetti from scratch, but Pamela insisted on box cake! It was still delicious!

More pictures to come soon!

Katie Rounds

We did this cake for a friend of a friend for a little girl's baby shower! This cake is one of Kelsey's favorites!

The cake was red velvet with buttercream frosting!

Thanks Rounds Photography for the beautiful pictures!!

Topsy Turvy Beach Cake

We did this cake for Kelsey's long time family friend who has triplets! They turned 3 years old! This was their first birthday that they got to celebrate in Arizona! They loved their cake so much and it was so fun to see them blow out the candles on the cake!

The cake was vanilla on the bottom tier and chocolate on the top tier. The beach ball was vanilla as well! We stuck with butter cream frosting just to keep it simple! The cake was delicious!

Doing the "Topsy Turvy" affect was harder than we though it would be. We were very impressed with how it came out though! Our inspiration came from our favorite show "Cake Boss". The beach ball was also very difficult to cover with fondant and it was hard to figure out how to cover the whole thing and still make everything look smoothe!

All in all, we loved making this cake!

Keep caking on!!!!

SHOUT OUT!

This is a shout out to our favorite little supply shop! It's called ABC Baking Cake Decorating supply in Scottsdale AZ, it's a little bit of a drive for us, but it's worth it when we just need some stuff every couple months. It doesn't look like much, but the staff is so wonderful, and they have everything you could ever need. They are KBL Bakery's Home Base!

Hope you are having a great morning!

Cup Cake Adventures Gone Wrong.

Yesterday Kelsey and Myself decided to, for fun, try some new cake recipes, not the decorating, just some new tastes. Everyone loves the classic vanilla white cake, so we decided we wanted to try some new recipes to find our favorite one. Well as Thomas Edison once said "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Let's just say we found one we are NOT a fan of. It turned out more like corn bread than cake. I guess that is the day in the life of a baker, no? OH WELL, it sure was funny!

Our next cake is going to be a Topsy Turvy Beach Fun cake, for our favorite triplets! They are turning 3, and our goal is to make a cake as cute as they are, quite a task! We will post pictures very soon, let us know if you have any questions, or want a cake for your next event!

Hope you are having a fantastic summer Sunday!

Love, Kels & Laura.
